Say it is a late weekend night on college street
Say you hear the rising chorus of cheers
Say its coming from the place called the wall
Say you find yourself walking towards this symphony
This is only the start you’ll see
For a tradition is about to begin
One that has been and will be for as long as is
Watch now, maybe even join the fun
People shed their exteriors, shed the burden of civilization
Stripped down to be as free as the day they were born
And then, most likely motivated by a liquid warmth,
They flee, run, sprint down the street and into the night
If you join, and you should
You’ll follow through the building split in two
Breath is caught where songs once chimed
Some even leave their scents to linger
Then again its back to the race
As everyone keeps their own speed
You could run and feel complete liberty
The wind will caress the parts usually hidden away
To do a Beloit College bell run is
To run
To be naked
To be free
