It is easier to get involved with The Round Table than you could possibly imagine. Would-be writers, photographers, cartoonists, and news enthusiasts are most cordially invited to the weekly contributors’ meeting each Tuesday night at 9:00 p.m. in Pearsons, on the 2nd Floor. You’ll find us. All submissions are due on Saturdays at 5 p.m. and are to be sent to roundtable@beloit.edu, or submitted to the shared drive.

Round Table Staff, Spring 2025.
Vivian Kopka’27, Co-Editor-In-Chief
If you can’t find Vivian Kopka’27 in her room or in the Round Table Office, you can most-likely find her guzzling down free popcorn at the Carom Room or ferociously playing foosball in the Powerhouse. As a Creative Writing and French Major, Viv’s plans after graduation involve customer service. She puts all editors to bed at 9:00 pm sharp by tucking them all in and supplying them wet kisses on the forehead.

Ella Silva’26, Co-Editor-In-Chief

Ella Silva has a long and storied history with The Round Table. They first began writing for the paper their freshman year at Beloit College, had the honor of being the Arts Section Editor the following year, and then did time as the Copy Editor their junior year. Now they’re the big man on the block (a senior!!! crazy!!) and are one of the two Co-Editors-in-Chief of this awesome newspaper. They’re super excited to dig into big stories, giggle at pitch meetings, and inform the Beloit community about all things important and unimportant this year. When they aren’t newspapering it up, you can probably find them attempting a new recipe they found on TikTok, overanalyzing a TV show or movie, or making overly specific themed playlists for every occasion.
Elisa Turner’27, News Editor
Elisa “Elle” Turner is a psychology and pre-med student who likes to write in her free time. Elle’s all about answering the big questions: what’s that smell emanating off the Rock River? Why is there never enough student parking if Beloit doles out the parking passes? What separates man from animal if both will claw their way towards absolute control without ever looking back, only ever extending illusions of empathy to their own ilk? What’s for lunch tomorrow? When she’s not pursuing matters of the utmost importance, you can find her giving godawful advice on Round Table Radio.

Sonya Edwards’27, Features Editor

Sonya Edwards, the purple-haired giant you see beelining across campus, is your new Features Editor. She is a sophomore double-majoring in Creative Writing and Media Studies. She’s pursuing her dreams and passions to become an author and film director despite her overwhelming aversion to being perceived. She was bestowed the honor of Features Editor after doing an elaborate dance to the underground classic, Stir Fry, in front of Vivian Kopka and Ella Silva like a court jester. When she’s not writing for the Round Table, you can find Sonya in her room rewatching one of her comfort shows. You can also find her in her red minivan, dancing to music; she swears no one can see her, but one can. If you start a conversation with her, just don’t be alarmed by the Wisconsin accent everyone swears she has (because she does). Sonya is beyond excited to be the Features Editor to continue spreading her agenda of pure chaos, fear, and anarchy.
Claire Winter’28, Op-Ed & Arts Editor
Claire Winter’28 is an anthropology and psychology student who’s stumbled her way into being a competent writer. First joining the Round Table as a staff writer, last year as Arts Editor, and taking the position of Op-Ed Editor this year, she loves taking terrible photos, eclectic and better-forgotten music, and writing deranged Shakespeare takes. When not getting into places she shouldn’t be in, you can find her getting entirely too invested in various amounts of niche internet drama or countering horrible advice on Round Table Radio.

Elliot Ave-Lallemant’27, Sports Editor

Elliot Ave-Lallemant’27 is a political science major and philosophy minor. He loves music, sports (mainly football, soccer and a little bit of hockey), video games and travel. When he’s not studying in the library, you can find him hosting his radio show on WBCR, playing soccer with his friends, and reading feminist literature (he’s 6”2 btw).
Quinn Annis’29, Back Editor
Quinn Annis’29 is a world renowned equestrian, miracle worker, and liar. He became the back editor after defeating Svea Jones’26 in ritual combat with only a water pistol and a small bazooka. He is a media studies and creative writing major with a Spanish minor, maybe. His most marketable skills include typing quick, pretending to do work, and avoiding confrontation. His most visceral fears include caves, shadow people, and bothering anyone. He would like to think he is funny- but he is wrong and will pay for his hubris.

Ruby Baudhuin’27, Copy Editor

Ruby Baudhuin ’27 is a media studies major with minors in English and journalism. Lately she’s been having a lot of fun with Online Etymology Dictionary. Ruby also enjoys watching movies, conversing with friends, hand sewing and doing crossword puzzles. She has recently accepted that the Oxford comma is not allowed in the AP Style Guide. This is not the personality she wants, but it’s the one she’s got.
Betty Cavicchia’28, Graphics Editor
Betty crawled from the Chicagoan ooze and clawed his way into an editing position by drawing strange creatures enough times that someone important took notice and put her on graphics. Betty has previously terrorized the airwaves working with Round Table Radio, and is proud to now spread his spores to the medium of print. Current running list of hair comparisons: cotton candy, Pinkie Pie, Jigglypuff, Kirby, fiberglass insulation, Vega Van Dam, fluffy hand soap. Additional contributions are still being accepted at this time.

Theo Bjornstad’27, Co-Website Editor

Theo Bjornstad’27 is a Biochemistry major, future PharmD, and guest star hopeful on the eventual House M.D. reboot. He loves video games, writing short stories, thinking way too hard, getting distracted at every opportunity, being slightly above average at Badminton and refusing to cite things in any other style but Chicago. Through an act of gerrymandering the likes of which have never been seen before- he’s the proud Official Internet Maintenance Creature of the Round Table- and he’s gonna make it everyone’s problem by making the website look real nice.
Asher Blumenthal’29, Co-Website Editor
Asher Blumenthal’29 was told to write this description himself. His first walk was a moonwalk and his first words were in C++. He’s currently on an indefinite hiatus of being a jerk. And is actually a really cool guy. Asher likes chasing squirrels and helping around campus, though he’s not very good at either. Asher’s only real regret in life is not being able to, in good conscience, talk about himself in the third person. Asher’s still hoping for the day it becomes socially acceptable to do so.
Until then, one like Asher can only wait.

Cian McKeown’27, Content Editor & Round Table Radio Producer

Cian McKeown’27 is a junior majoring in creative writing with a minor in journalism and the producer of Round Table Radio. Away from the WBCR studio and Round Table office you can find listening to classic soul music, writing dumb jokes, and proposing outlandish trades in fantasy football.
