Wow! What a week in the Premier League. Little Luton Town FINALLY won a game at home, Newcastle hammered Chelsea 4-1, and Bournemouth beat Sheffield United. But who cares about all that irrelevant news? The big news this week is that Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho scored an INCREDIBLE bicycle kick and against Everton. If you ask me, it’s a goal of the season, goal of the month and Puskás award contender. This goal was nothing short of incredible, and is very reminiscent of Wayne Rooney’s infamous goal for United back in 2011. Garnacho’s goal was the first in a 3-0 win for Manchester United against Everton, who got a 10 point deduction following a Financial Fair Play investigation last week. This puts Everton in 18th place, putting them in the relegation zone. This investigation had a lot of people (mostly Everton fans) scratching their head, as Manchester City have been under fire for not following FFP guidelines. In other Premier League news, Tottenham lost again, this time to Aston Villa. Following my article from last week, if they had any chances before, they certainly don’t have any now. Sorry Spurs fans! In terms of the month ahead, I have a few theories. Firstly, I think that Chelsea will slightly improve their game. The next few matches for them are looking to be tough, but have some easy opponents towards the end of winter break (looking at you Everton). Second, I think that Manchester United will continue to have an average performance (excluding Garnacho’s goal). They haven’t looked good in the Champions League and André Onana continues to let them down in goal. The winter transfer window is coming up soon, so keep your eyes peeled for a report of what went down after the winter break. Stay warm and love soccer!
