Former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have agreed to testify before Congress about their links to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The couple agreed to testify when the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, led by Republicans, was aiming to hold them in contempt of Congress. Hillary Clinton will appear on Feb. 26, and Bill Clinton will appear the following day.

Bill Clinton was a friend of Epstein but has denied any connection with the sex trafficking of minors on Epstein’s private island. With the continual release of files belonging to Epstein from the White House there have been increased questions about the nature of Bill Clinton’s relationship with Epstein.

Dozens of photos show the duo side by side, and talking with other people connected to the sex trafficking operation, including Ghislaine Maxwell. There are photos of Bill Clinton with redacted victims in various scenarios including on his lap, in a hot tub together, and on a private plane.

When asked about his reaction to the news, President Trump, who was also a close friend of Epstein, stated, “I think it’s a shame, to be honest. I always liked him. Her, she’s a very capable woman. She was better at debating than some of the other people, I will tell you that. She was smarter. Smart woman. I hate to see it in many ways.”

On Thursday, Committee on Oversight and Government Reform chair Rep. James Comer sent an email to the Clintons’ legal team detailing the terms of the deposition. The biggest disagreement between the sides has been whether or not the affair should be open to the public.

Rep. Comer stated that open committee meetings are “more for entertainment than substance”, and continuously accused Hillary Clinton of “moving the goalpost”.

Hillary Clinton has been vocal about her support for the public to be able to watch the event. “Let’s stop the games,” she wrote on social media Thursday morning. “You love to talk about transparency. There’s nothing more transparent than a public hearing, cameras on.”

Last month, the Clintons addressed a letter to Rep. Comer, writing, “The decisions you have made, and the priorities you have set as chairman regarding the Epstein investigation, have prevented progress in discovering the facts about the government’s role.” They went on to say, “There is no plausible explanation for what you are doing other than partisan politics.”

Alongside the Clintons, Rep. Comer has also hinted at subpoenas for other powerful individuals, alluding to Bill Gates, someone who has also been featured in many photos with Epstein and victims.
