This past Wednesday, April 22, was the annual GAZ fest. This year’s organizer was Finn Waterman’26, who has participated in the fest for three years, including this one. The lineup included Lily Niesen’28, Xenya, Annabelle Sherman’27, and Xx_gu773r tr4sh_xX. Each performer had 15 to 20 minutes to perform.
Niesen bravely went first and opened the show with their voice and ukulele. They played three songs.
Xenya went next. Xenya is Jasmine Kingsbury’28’s stage name. She played three songs by herself and later had Waterman on bass and Kembry Daniel’28 on drums.
Sherman took the stage next and sang four opera songs, a beautiful switch-up from the previous performances.
To close the night, Xx_gu773r tr4sh_xX took to the gazebo. They played five songs, including the fast classic, “Smoking in a Bubblebath.” The band’s lead vocalist is Brandon Barber’27, with Waterman on bass, Kingsbury on keys and guitar, and Daniel on drums.
GAZ Fest concluded the festivities of the spring day wonderfully. The weather was nice, and the people were nicer. All the performers were wonderful and a treat to listen to.
