Two vessels carrying aid supply to Gaza were struck by drones off the coast of Tunisia on Tuesday, Sept. 9. While no one was injured, this is just another case in a long pattern of aid to Gaza being systemically obstructed.

In August, Gaza was officially stated to be experiencing famine by the United Nations, through a report conducted by the Famine Review Committee. While Israel’s blockade of incoming aid was lifted in May of 2025, the report states that humanitarian requests for aid are still repeatedly denied and are often subject to bombings or attacks. The FRC Report states that this famine is entirely man-made, and with one in three children in Gaza being acutely malnourished, the call for a sustained cease-fire and large scale humanitarian aid efforts are increasingly more urgent.
