Beloit College publishes the annual security report on Oct. 1 of each year, and this year’s statistics came out this week.

In the email received by Eric Sharlow, director of Safety and Security, he encourages students to read the report to “promote a safe environment, in which personal security and safety are taken seriously by all members of the college community.”

Drug, Liquor and Weapon (DLW) arrests are very similar to the last few years. There were no drug related arrests last year, compared to three the year before. However, four people were arrested for liquor usage on public property (see map).

Drug related referrals decreased as well, but liquor referrals did increase throughout campus and in residential halls. One hate crime did occur last year, and it was reported as relating to gender identity, and occurred primarily online.

The report can be found online under the Beloit College Security page. Paper copies are located in the Security office.
