Beloit College Men’s Soccer defeated Lawrence 3-0 on Wednesday with a commanding presence. This leads the Bucs to a 2-0 start in Midwest Conference play, which is their best start since 2015.

Eziah Hernandez’29 had a dominating offensive presence in the Viking’s half, scoring all three of the goals. Melvin Salazar and Max Wilson assisted on the second and third goals and were also contributing players to the Buccaneer’s success. The Viking’s defense showed their weakness of balls over the top very early on in the game, and Hernandez exploited it throughout all 90 minutes.

On the defensive end, David Staats’28 made 10 saves. Nelson Hunter’28, Rosario Escalera26, and Nicholas Williams28 also played crucial roles in keeping the ball out of the Beloit net. The Buccaneers had nine shots on target compared to Lawrence’s six, displaying their possession throughout the game.

This is Beloit’s second win of conference play after another strong game against Monmouth last Saturday. They currently rank first in Midwest Conference play after finishing ninth last season.

They play at home again on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 1:30 p.m., so continue to support the Buccaneers as they continue to dominate the conference.
