To celebrate absolutely nothing in particular, my lovely roommates and I planned a day to go to Applebee’s because I had never tried it before. Coincidentally, that day was the day they brought Bapple into the rotation of beers. Here is a review of everything the group ate.
Drinks:
Watermelon margarita — I don’t like tequila at all but this was surprisingly yummy. It was $6 which is why I ordered it in the first place.
Blackberry lemonade — Tasted like a Mike’s Hard Lemonade, kinda gross.
White peach sangria — This is the only drink I would order again. It was so good.
Adios — Also delicious, but the blue color was off-putting.
Busch apple — Carbonation was a horrible way to end the meal but Bapple is Bapple.
Food:
Chicken Fajita rollup — Ella orders this every time so it must be good.
Appetizer trio — We got mozzarella sticks, chicken wonton tacos, and waffle fries to share. Mozzarella sticks had no cheese pull and waffle fries were properly cooked (unlike Hamiltons). I loved the idea of a wonton taco but it was quite bland.
Beef nachos — Fine for nachos but I would rather save $10 and get bowling alley nachos. Also I felt sick for hours after.
Mushroom swiss burger — Lio also always gets this burger so I assume it’s good enough.
Four cheese mac ‘n’ cheese and hot lemon pepper tenders — Not remarkable, probably should have cost less.
Tomato soup — It tasted like canned soup but if they added extra cream to it.
House salad — Yeah.
Overall rating: 5/10. I never knew Applebee’s was that expensive. Honestly probably got a higher rating because I love hanging out with my friends. The real lesson from all of this is that I love my friends. Shoutout to Ella, Lio, Izzy, and Kaela for making Applebee’s possible.
