On Wednesday, Sept. 23, a wide array of Beloit College’s clubs and organizations gathered in the Powerhouse from 12:30-1:30 p.m. to encourage students to get involved in events on campus.
The Involvement Fair is organized at the start of each semester by Student Engagement and Leadership to foster community, bringing students together and encouraging them to pursue their interests. Clubs who register to be in the Involvement Fair also get the chance to recruit new members and interact with one another.
Club booths stretched throughout the first floor, with tables lined up from the left side of the Weissberg Auditorium down towards the Riverside Lounge, ending at the Spirit Shop. Each booth showcased unique eye-catching embellishments, including poster boards and artwork. Some clubs asked relevant trivia questions for passersby to earn prizes, while others offered free merchandise and candy. Every table strived to communicate key information about club activities and raise awareness about upcoming events, many showcasing posters that will be hung around campus and offering sign-ups for email lists in order to send out regular updates to those interested.
The Involvement Fair allows students to branch out their interests and interact with each other, and helps clubs to find and welcome new members. The next fair will take place in the spring semester, but students can opt to participate in activities any time throughout the year, which will be noted in the campus events calendar.
